Rotary 7 by 7 Collaboration and General Katumba Wamala bless Special Needs Children with Wheelchairs
This happened on the 18th of January at Kirekka home of the needy and at St Lillian home in Gayaza . This project was named 7 by 7 because it includes over 7 clubs collaborating . This project was graced by the prescence of General Edward Katumba Wamala minister of Works and Transport in Uganda together.
The Rotary clubs that participated in the 7 by 7 Collaboration included Kampala Ssese Islands, Kampala Life Stars, Kampala Mahaba, Nakasero Central, Kampala North and Kira. The clubs offered wheelchairs to special needs children in Kireka and Gayaza.
General Katumba WAMALA told the audience that he had lobbied for the wheelchairs from Tororo Cement, and had contacted his Rotarian colleagues to make good use of the wheel chairs by putting them to use in form of charity to the vulnerable community.
Kireka Home of special needs Children was the first place visited . Gen. Katumba Wamala asked parents to love and care for them. He emphasized that every child is a gift from God and every life matters.
This project was attended by Many Rotarians that were represented by their different clubs. Several Rotary Leadership dignitaries were cited and these included the former Rotary District Governors ,DG Edward Kakembo Nsubuga, Xavier Sentamu and PDG Mike kennedy Sebaalu.
St. Julian Jubilee Home was the second home that was visited after KIREKA home . More wheel chairs were donated in this home .
Giving without expecting anything in return is a divine activity which God acknowledges.Blesses are the hands that give than those that receive
The children’s facilitators and caretakers were very excited and pleased and very grateful to all the Rotarians.
